Dictionary terms Stock Market as a market where the trading of company stock takes place; both those securities listed on a stock exchange as well as those only traded privately While a stock exchange or bourse is a corporation or mutual organization which provides the facilities for stock brokers to trade company stocks and other securities.

Frankfurt Stock Exchange, Germany
Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse (Frankfurt Stock Exchange), is one of the world's largest trading centers for securities. With a share in turnover of around 90 percent, it is the largest of the eight German stock exchanges.
Copenhagen Stock Exchange
In February 2005, the offer for the Copenhagen Stock Exchange submitted by OMX was accepted by the shareholders in the Copenhagen Stock Exchange, and the Copenhagen Stock Exchange thus became part of the Swedish, listed company OMX.
